God spoke to Elder RJ Sawyers when he was residing in Nashville, Tennessee to begin a ministry in Gulfport, Mississippi. In obedience to God’s instructions, Elder Sawyers moved his family to Mississippi. On November 7, 2001, Miracle Temple Ministries held its first service - a bible study - in our home at Cambridge Apartments in Gulfport. God truly blessed and the ministry began to grow.
God allowed our ministry to find favor with the managers of Cambridge Apartments who agreed to let us use their club house for our services. God’s vision and purpose for Miracle Temple Ministries did not stop there. He blessed us to move to a storefront building, our present location, in June 2004. We could then have freedom to have special services, meetings, and fellowship gatherings at our convenience.
Organizationally, Miracle Temple Ministries is a member of Prophetic Miracle Ministries Worldwide, Inc., (PMMW), which includes over 100 Apostolic Pentecostal churches in the United States and abroad. Among the organization’s domestic churches, five are located in the Southwest area to include Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. Headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama the PMMW was founded by Bishop Leo S. Lewis in 2002 and he continues to serve as our presiding prelate.
We are excited about what God is doing and know that He has even more in store for Miracle Temple Ministries.
